Nadine Nurasyid Moves to the NFL: Former Touchdown Munich Ambassador Joins the Indianapolis Colts
The Next Career Step into the NFL
With her appointment to the Indianapolis Colts, Nadine Nurasyid continues her impressive journey in American football. The 40-year-old will work with the defensive backs and will be integrated into the coaching staff’s daily work—on the practice field, in the video room, during team meetings, and on the sideline.
The one-year “Harriet P. Irsay Fellowship for Women in Football Program” was launched by the Colts in 2023. It offers qualified women the opportunity to gain practical experience in coaching and football operations—fields in which women have been significantly underrepresented in the NFL to date.
A Football Career Full of Firsts
Nadine Nurasyid has been one of the most influential figures in German American football for years. The Munich native has already made history on multiple occasions: As the first female coordinator and head coach in the German Football League, she took on leadership roles in top-tier European men’s football.
In 2022, she was named “GFL Coach of the Year” for her work with the Munich Cowboys. Before and after that, she gained extensive experience with the Straubing Spiders, the Munich Cowboys, and the Stuttgart Surge. With the Surge, she won the European League of Football championship in 2025.
From Munich to Indianapolis
Her football career is closely tied to Munich. As a player, Nurasyid played for the Munich Cowboys Ladies, won bronze with the German national team at the European Championship, and later took silver in flag football.
As a coach, she also shaped Munich’s football scene for many years. With the Munich Cowboys, she served as defensive backs coach, defensive coordinator, and head coach, among other roles. Her professional development eventually took her from the German national team and the European League of Football all the way to the NFL.
Experience with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Nadine Nurasyid is already a familiar face in the NFL. In 2023 and 2025, she participated in coaching programs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where she gained her first experience within an NFL organization.
Her new role with the Indianapolis Colts marks the next step: Instead of just participating in parts of the preseason, Nurasyid will be integrated into the franchise’s day-to-day operations throughout the entire season.
A Familiar Face as a TV Analyst, Too
In addition to her coaching career, Nadine Nurasyid has also made a name for herself as a TV analyst. She has analyzed NFL games for RTL, DAZN, and Netflix, and has also provided media coverage of previous NFL games in Munich.
As the first female analyst on German live NFL broadcasts and the first woman to provide commentary on a Super Bowl for a German audience, she set new standards in front of the camera as well.
Former Ambassador for Touchdown Munich
Nadine Nurasyid served as an ambassador for Touchdown Munich in 2024, supporting the platform during the NFL game in Munich at that time with her expertise and close ties to the local football community.
With her move to the Indianapolis Colts, the Munich native is now continuing her career on the international stage, once again underscoring the strong connection between Munich and professional American football.
Germany Remains an Important Market for the Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are no strangers to German NFL fans either. The team hosted the first regular-season NFL game in Berlin in 2025 and has continued to expand its presence in the German market in recent years.
Among the well-known German figures associated with the Colts is former NFL pro Björn Werner, who played for Indianapolis from 2013 to 2015 and now serves as the franchise’s ambassador in Germany.
A new chapter is now beginning for Nadine Nurasyid in Indianapolis—and for one of Munich’s best-known figures in American football, this marks the biggest step of her coaching career to date.
