On the night of February 8-9, 2026, the world's biggest single sporting event will take place once again. The Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. Millions of football fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the rematch of Super Bowl 2015. In Munich, too, the Big Game is traditionally celebrated together. Whether it's a large event location, sports bar, or cinema, Munich has a lot to offer.

An exciting sporting duel on the field

In sporting terms, it is perhaps a final that few would have predicted before the season. Nevertheless, the Patriots and Seahawks are two absolute heavyweights of the NFL. On one side is the New England franchise, with six Super Bowl trophies. On the other side are the Seahawks, known for their tough defense and always loud stadium. The night will be rounded off by the legendary halftime show with Bad Bunny, which is sure to be a talking point even outside of the world of sports. Punk rock band Green Day will open the Super Bowl show.

Munich's biggest Super Bowl party in Werksviertel-Mitte

While some fans watch the game comfortably at home on TV, many football enthusiasts head out into the city to experience the final in an atmospheric atmosphere. In Munich in particular, a number of regular venues have established themselves over the years, above all Werksviertel-Mitte.

For decades, Werksviertel-Mitte at Ostbahnhof has been the premier location for Super Bowl nights in Munich. In 2026, the city's largest Super Bowl party will once again take place here, this time at the WERK7 theater. On February 8, 2026, a genuine American sports experience awaits, complete with all the trimmings: burgers, wings, ribs, loaded fries, draft beer, the best coffee from Voyagermuc, and, of course, football on the big screen. Thanks to a modern video cube, you'll have the best view of the game from every seat.

Jan Herold (munich.fm) and DJ Bobby Evs will provide the perfect supporting program, guiding you through the evening and ensuring the right sound. As a local highlight, the Munich Cowboys will be there and part of the party again, including their cheerleading team. There will also be interactive stage and live entertainment to make the wait until kickoff fly by. Tickets are available via Eventim.

Super Bowl is being celebrated big in Munich every year

Watch parties are also taking place in other Munich neighborhoods

Munich also has other locations where you can watch the Super Bowl in a lively atmosphere. The Hard Rock Cafe Munich traditionally puts on a big show for the Super Bowl. Numerous screens, American finger food, and a special “Big Game” package with a buffet, beer, and coffee until the early hours of the morning make this location a popular destination in the city center. At Mathäser, you can experience the 2026 Super Bowl in comfortable cinema seats with powerful sound and a perfect view. Ideal for anyone who wants to watch the game in a focused atmosphere, without crowds, but with a real event atmosphere.

The newly renovated Champions Restaurant & Bar in Schwabing (Munich Marriott) will broadcast the Big Game live starting at 8 p.m. Burgers, wings, and American classics will provide a real NFL feeling in the north of Munich. Also at the Munich Marriott, but as a premium event, the Munich Ravens are hosting an exclusive Super Bowl watch party in the ballroom. With players on site, a cheerleader show, interviews, interactive football challenges, an all-you-can-eat buffet, and unlimited drinks, the event is aimed at fans who want to celebrate the Big Game as a special experience.

Ned Kelly's, located in the heart of downtown, will also be showing the Super Bowl. Stadium food, Irish pale ale on tap, and a sports-friendly atmosphere make this bar a great place to spend a long night watching football. Backstage, the final will be shown on a big screen in the arena area. Seat reservations including drink vouchers are available in advance, ideal for fans who like to take it easy but still want to watch the big game.

Who will win the Super Bowl this year?

It's well known that defense wins championships. This saying has been around for years for good reason. With only 16.4 points allowed on average, the Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the entire NFL. With wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, quarterback Sam Darnold also has a reliable target on offense. The Seahawks are considered one of the most complete teams in the league. Their opponents from New England are relying primarily on the passing accuracy of quarterback Drake Maye.

After two forgettable years in a row with a 4-13 record, the Patriots are back in the big game for the first time since 2018. However, it won't be easy against the strong Seahawks defense. But the Patriots can deliver when it counts. All Seahawks fans learned this the hard way in Super Bowl 2015, when Patriots defender Malcolm Butler intercepted a last-second pass attempt by Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, sealing the victory for New England. This year's Super Bowl is also likely to be an extremely interesting one.
